 At the end of the first quarter of 2014, net energy production increased by 7% compared to the previous period of 2013, driven mainly by higher production in photo-voltaic plants.

Net domestic consumption stood at similar levels for both physical perioade. Exchange border export increased from Q1 2014 to Q1 2013 by 53%, while the import decreased by 46%.

The production mix at the Q1 2014 compared to Q1 2013 grow with 3% the share component of renewable energy (wind, biomass, solar) comparative with energy from fossil fuels (coal, oil) which decreased by 2 %.


At end of march 2014 installed power plants using primary source declined compared to the previous year. A significant change was due to increaseing installed capacity in photovoltaic power plants with 1,000 MW from about 29 MW installed at the end of March 2013, about 1,037 MW on March 31, 2014.

Wind power installed capacity (approximately 700 MW) also continued growth were put in small urban and industrial co-generation. Dynamics of installed capacity at the end of Q1 2014, and 2013 is presented below:
