LiftBalkans and Smart Buildings will be the new accents in the 9th Eco Forum & Exhibition for SE Europe from Bulgaria

The world is transforming with extreme speed – the current model of overproduction and consumption is not eco-friendly and we all turn to look to the new economy, built on eco-innovation and high efficiency. In the near future, the thinking buildings will become an essential part of the urban environment, because they are adequately prepared to respond to the current challenges. They can reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions by 50% to 70% and save 30% to 50% in water usage.

During the last years the conception of smart buildings has made a notable progress in Bulgaria and several buildings with BREEAM, LEED and DGNB certifications have been realized.

The big potential of the lift industry in the country is a good opportunity for foreign companies to explore and step on the Bulgarian market. According to the Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance Bulgaria has over 120,000 lifts. More than 80,000 of them need to be upgraded in stages over the next 10 years. It is recommended to install on the old lifts security systems, control of weight/load, -lighting, communication equipment and other safety items in the period 2013 – 2014.

Keeping pace with the global trends, LiftBalkans (elevators and escalators) and Smart Buildings (building automation and control systems) are the new highlights of the 9th Eco Forum and Exhibition for South-East Europe on Energy Efficiency, Green Energy and Waste Management, organized by Via Expo.

Good present of Eastern European companies at SolarExpo Italy

In Milan, Italy, took place between 8 and 10 May solar exhibition and conference SolarExpo. Compared to other years exhibitor and visitor numbers was not that big.

We noted the presence of companies from Eastern Europe in the field of PV and solar thermic. Even representatives of Italian companies appreciated the developments in Eastern Europe.

Thus firms from Poland and Romania had display stands and also officials from Romania, Czech Republic and Poland was with space for seeking information about the law or the companies with which they can cooperate.

31,300 visitors from 83 countries came to the Trade Fair’s pavilions and took part in 60 conferences of national and international at Fiera Milano-Rho.

The events of The Innovation Cloud-Solarexpo provided the framework for an open, in-depth discussion about the future of the solar market, both in the context of grid-parity, such as the post-incentives Italian market, and in the global arena, through the Global Solar Summit.

“In just three days, our exhibition has rapidly brought operators to a shared conviction: notwithstanding the fact that the macroeconomic framework of the country is still very difficult and many uncertainties in the regulations persist, the worst is over. There are promising areas of research and innovation in many fields of technology and the renewable energies and energy efficiency sector is dynamic, responsive and increasingly competitive,” said Luca Zingale, founder and scientific director of The Innovation Cloud.

WEBINAR: Solar Heaters Arab Mark and Certification Initiative (SHAMCI) - towards a regional certification scheme for solar water heaters

This webinar will provide an overview of the first regional solar thermal certification scheme for developing countries. The objective of the SHAMCI is to facilitate the market transformation of SWHs in the Arab region, reduce trade barriers and promote the use of high quality SWHs in the Arab region and beyond.

At the end of 2011, the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity (AMCE) asked the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) and the Arabian Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO) to work on a standardization and certification programme for SWHs to ensure a specific quality level for solar thermal products and services in the Arab region.

The RCREEE worked on this request together with the University of Stuttgart in Germany. The final output – the SHAMCI certification programme - is similar to the Solar Keymark in Europe or the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation (SRCC) in the US. It was released at the end of 2012.  The model was presented to the executive office of the Electricity Arab Ministerial Council who blessed the creation of the network and supported the implementation of the model throughout the Arab region.

The SHAMCI network is made of 38 members ranging from energy authorities, to industries, certification bodies, test laboratories, inspection bodies, consumer NGOS and other concerned stakeholders.

BISOL Group - New series of PV modules with coloured cells

BISOL Group, a European manufacturer of premium photovoltaic modules and mounting solutions, developed the new BISOL Spectrum series of PV modules with coloured cells.

The exclusive BISOL Spectrum series of coloured PV modules is available in a wide range of colours, which is achieved by simply changing the thickness of the silicon nitride coating, a chemical compound that gives the cells their typical colour and come in power classes from 225W to 235W. These customized high quality PV modules are particularly designed for installations where colour conformity to the building design is essential. They can also be used to brighten a monotonous exterior.

Fashionable modules can perfectly match the colour of the roof tiles as they come in various colour shades: cobalt blue, forest green, lavender, metallic grey and tile red. The investor can either choose single-shade or multi-shade cell colour pattern. In many situations these new BISOL PV modules are a suitable solution when renovating cultural heritage buildings.

The company also recently presented its newest BISOL data logger 1.0 monitoring device. The product combines a data logger, 3G modem and a router to provide a complete insight into the PV plant’s performance. It enables data collection from different inverter brands and allows monitoring, analysing and downloading all the essential PV plant’s performance information.
