Moldova: European Sustainable Energy Week 23 to 29 June 2014

Most activities was held in the Public Garden "Stefan cel Mare" Park  from Chisinau, but also in several places around the city. In Balti was organized two "Energy Days", June 24 to 25 and a round table.

About Energy Efficiency in Hospitals was organized a workshop in Orhei town on June 26. The event ended with SUN Go Fest, held in Park Garden from Chisinau. Over the last few days have been proposed: the solar-powered concerts, exhibitions on renewable energy, photo exhibitions of success stories about renewable energy in Moldova. The events was presented on national television Moldova1.

Moldova is actively to enhance energy efficiency in the country and to promote renewable energy sources, modernizing energy structure. Energy Strategy of the Republic of Moldova in 2030 and the National Action Plan to promote renewable energy sources for the years 2013 to 2020, set ambitious goals similar to those of the EU to promote sustainable energy in the country such as:

- 20% of the country's energy to come from renewable sources by 2020;
- At least 10% of total biofuel consumption compbustibili;
- A 20% reduction of primary energy consumption;
- A reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by at least 25% compared with 1990;
