EBRD publish Policy Guidelines on Competitive Selection and Support for Renewable Energy

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Energy Community Secretariat (EnCS) have issued joint Policy Guidelines to help countries design and implement competitive selection processes for supporting renewable energy.  The Policy Guidelines have been prepared in collaboration with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

Belgrade for the fifth time hosts a unique international event, RENEXPO® Water & Energy

From the 24th to the 26th of April this year, in BelExpocentre, Belgrade will be held 5th RENEXPO® Water & Energy, International fair trade, which will bring together producers and distributors of product representatives of scientific institutions, design firms, water companies, local self-governments, public utility companies , ministries as well as financial institutions that invest resources in renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and water management.

RENEXPO® Water & Energy Fair expects over 120 exhibitors, of which 80% are international.
2000 visitors and about 700 participants of conferences will have the opportunity to get acquainted with foreign and domestic projects, technologies and innovations in terms of sustainable energy that is necessary for the future.

In cooperation with numerous embassies, several national booths will be held in which companies from Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Croatia and other countries will be presented.

Energy Efficiency is the theme of a free seminar, which aims to promote the energy management system in Serbia and present the practices of the countries of the region and the EU. The event is intended for licensed managers and anyone interested in improving energy efficiency in building, manufacturing processes and available technical solutions in this area. Enhancing EE is a key task and the goal is to achieve an improvement of 20% in energy efficiency by 2020 at the EU level. German Organization for International Cooperation- GIZ will present projects of EE and renewable energy through participation in the fair and conference. Also, companies like SIKA doo will present their innovative technologies in terms of building materials.

International trade fair for renewable energy, conventional energy, equipment and technologies for the oil and natural gas industry.

The 8th edition of ExpoEnergiE will take place between 8th-11th of March 2018, at Romexpo Exhibition Centre in one of the new exhibition areas that Romexpo has open in the fall of 2017 – Pavilion B2! KNESS Group to open three solar plants with total capacity of 33.9 MW in Ukraine

The EBRD is contributing to Ukraine’s energy security by pledging new funds for the development of alternative power generation. The latest project under the Ukraine Sustainable Energy Lending Facility (USELF) will support the development, construction and operation of three solar plants in the Vinnitsa region of western Ukraine.

The financing of up to €25.9 million for Ukraine’s leading engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm KNESS Group provided by the Bank will consist of:

- A senior EBRD 10-year loan of up to 18.5 million
- A 10-year loan from the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) of up to €7.4 million

The solar project has benefited from technical assistance by the EU4Business programme.

Total installed capacity of the three plants will be 33.9 MW. This renewable facility will significantly contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions (c. 37 500 tons per year). Nearly 350 people will be employed during the construction and approximately 15 during operations.
